BiNeMo e.V.

Bielefelder Netzwerk der Migrantenorganisationen

Who we are

BiNeMo e.V. opens a community-based racism-critical counselling centre (initial and referral counselling) on 1 November 2023.

Description: The Bielefeld Network of Migrant Organisations e. V. (BiNeMo) is active in the field of migration policy. The network aims to help shape a local intercultural integration policy in Bielefeld that is geared towards participation and social inclusion. Many of its members are migrant organisations from rural areas. BiNeMo e.V. itself is a member of the Bielefeld network of racism-critical work and co-organiser of the Bielefeld action weeks against racism. It advises people who have already been affected by racism on a voluntary basis and supports them in taking further steps (referral counselling). BiNeMo also cooperates with the city’s anti-discrimination centre. BiNeMo e.V. can offer mobile counselling to reach people in rural areas.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Weact: Community-based anti-racism counselling - What is it? An information event with and for migrant organisations and other interested parties

6.2.2025

Discrimination based on racism is part of human interaction wherever people come into contact with each other and do and say very ordinary things. Yet racism is usually invisible to the vast majority. It only becomes visible when racially motivated violence occurs. But even then, unfortunately, racism is often de-thematised.
That’s why we need projects like Weact in Bielefeld and elsewhere. Together with the migrant organisations in the Bielefeld network, we make the extent of racism visible. We call racism by its name. We don’t just talk about it, we intervene.
As part of the Bielefeld Action Weeks against Racism, we will present our new approach to counselling in Bielefeld and give you an insight into the special features of a community-based counselling centre. The information event is aimed at members of migrant organisations and anyone interested in community-based counselling that is critical of racism.

When: 13 March 2024, 16:30 – 18:30
