After more than six years of accompanying and supporting refugees, the authors take stock: migrant organizations have become indispensable as active (co-)shapers. The direct contact and the resulting improved opportunities for cities to welcome refugees as fellow citizens are particularly convincing – proof of how refugee work can be organized in a committed and prudent manner “on site” as an ongoing task.
