'AGABY' stands for "Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Ausländer-, Migranten- und Integrationsbeiräte Bayerns". We are the umbrella organization of the integration advisory boards in the Free State of Bavaria.
We network and support the municipal advisory boards in their task of representing the interests of migrants in local politics. The advisory boards for foreigners, migrants and integration are voluntary bodies that are democratically elected by the migrant population in the cities and districts.
We advise the municipalities and state politics on the processes for a participatory integration policy in order to achieve equal and non-discriminatory coexistence.
In Bavaria, there will be a new community-based counseling service for victims of racism and discrimination starting in the fall of 2023.
As part of the project "weact: confronting racism and helping to shape a discrimination-free society" of the Bundesverband Netzwerke von Migrant*innenorganisationen e. V. (NeMO), AGABY and ZAM e.V. are opening Bavaria-wide counseling centers in Nuremberg and Augsburg.
