Who we are

The Foundation for the Promotion of Inclusion and Participation was established by Sinti and Roma on October 25, 2012. The foundation is named after Hildegard Lagrenne (1921-2007), who shaped the civil rights movement of the German Sinti and Roma. Throughout her life, she campaigned for equal participation in education and fought racism against Sinti and Roma.

The HLS aims to improve the educational opportunities of Sinti and Roma, especially children and young people, in Germany by promoting education and combating discrimination. The foundation promotes international understanding, intercultural and democratic learning, anti-discrimination and political education.

Our offer

We offer consultations digitally, by telephone and on site at the weact office in Mannheim. It is also possible for us to come to a location of your choice. Our core task is to promote the education, inclusion and participation of Sinti and Roma in Germany.  We therefore focus on advising members of this minority. However, our advice is open to all people who have experienced racism.
