Who we are

MiSO-Netzwerk Hannover e.V. has been in existence for ten years and has built up a strong and stable structure for anti-racism and anti-discrimination work. Today, the network is an important voice in shaping a sustainable “we” society. We are open to new members and currently represent the interests of 52 member organisations in the city and region of Hannover. Our goals include the creation of contact points for refugees and empowerment programmes for migrants. In order to achieve this, we have gathered extensive expertise. Our members are experts in anti-discrimination and anti-racism counselling. For example, the MiSO network was able to develop a concept for a migrant-run counselling centre, which was supported by the Round Table for Equality and Against Racism of the city of Hanover. The network has very good contacts with people affected by racism and discrimination as well as with municipal and civil society networks.

What we offer

We offer counselling in French, English, German, Mandika and, if needed, Spanish and African languages.

Our counselling centre will be barrier-free and a safe space. We offer empowerment and systemic support to people affected by racism and multiple discrimination and are available to people with migration, post-migration and refugee experiences. We will work with clients to develop ways of dealing with racist experiences in everyday life and in institutional structures. We will continue to train and educate migrant organisations, BIPoC people in the diaspora and counsellors to help shape local structures free from racism and discrimination. We offer telephone, online and on-site counselling. If required and subject to availability, we will also come to the Hannover region.
