As part of the large-scale model project of the Federal Commissioner for Anti-Racism, Reem Alabali-Radovan (SPD), our community-based racism-critical counselling centres will start their work on 1 November. The launch will be heralded with the entire weact team and all key supporters at a kick-off event on 24 October in Hanover. Members of the press and interested parties are cordially invited to find out more about the weact project and the community-based racism-critical counselling approach. Hanover’s Lord Mayor Belit Onay will also give a welcome address. weact advisors, Prof. Dr Gudrun Perko and Leah Czollek (founders of the Institute for Social Justice and Radical Diversity) and Prof. Dr Lorenz Narku Laing (member of the Council of Experts on Antiracism), will give keynote speeches to explain the approach of the counselling service.
The event will be moderated by Ata Demirel.
Atahan Demirel is a freelance journalist from Stuttgart. He writes in particular about issues relating to diversity, anti-racism and tax justice. As a child of migrant workers, he knows that discriminatory structures can lead to high levels of stress.
