A social experiment is conducted to observe how people in public react to an alleged crime. Three different people attempt to break into a bicycle in a busy place – a white teenager, a black teenager and a young white woman. The aim of the experiment is to find out whether and to what extent the reactions of passers-by are influenced by external characteristics such as skin color or gender. Will someone intervene? And if so – with whom?
