The MiSO-Netzwerk Hannover e. V. has been in existence for ten years and has built up a strong and stable structure for anti-racism and anti-discrimination work during this time. Today, the network is an important voice in shaping a sustainable society. We are open to new members and currently represent the interests of 52 member organizations in the city and region of Hanover. Our goals include the creation of contact points for refugees and empowerment services for migrants. We have gathered extensive expertise for this. Our association members are experts in anti-discrimination and anti-racism advice. For example, the MiSO network was able to develop a concept for a migrant-run advice center that was supported by the City of Hanover's Round Table for Equality and Against Racism. The network has very good contacts with people affected by racism and discrimination as well as with municipal and civil society networks.
We offer counseling in French, English, German, Mandika as well as Spanish and African languages if required.
Our counseling center will be barrier-free and a safe space. We offer empowerment and systemic support for people affected by racism and multiple discrimination and are available for people with migration, post-migration and refugee experience.Together with those seeking advice, we will develop ways of dealing with racist experiences in everyday life and in institutional structures. We will continuously train and educate migrant organizations, BIPoC people in the diaspora and counsellors in order to help shape local structures free of racism and discrimination. We offer telephone, online and on-site counseling. If required and depending on availability, we also come to the region around Hanover.
